Farming Today

Farming continues to play a major part in the life of our community and farmers across the constituency are responsible for maintaining much of our beautiful countryside. The Government is committed to supporting our farmers, particularly in a time of drought and to ensuring that the interests of British farmers and consumers are properly protected in the current round of CAP reform which is just beginning. Stephen Phillips QC MP met last week with NFU representatives and local farmers to discuss their priorities and to learn of the issues which they wish ministers to progress on their behalf. "Farming is incredibly important to the local area," Stephen said. "It is vital that ministers understand the concerns of those who are responsible for our food security and the natural environment from which we all benefit so much here in Lincolnshire. I have a number of matters to raise with the Secretary of State arising from my meeting this morning and I will be speaking to her next week about these vital matters."

Welcome

Welcome, and thanks for visiting my website.  On 6th May 2010, I was elected by an overwhelming majority of more than 50% of voters as the Member of Parliament for the Sleaford and North Hykeham Constituency.  It's a great honour to have this responsibility of fighting for this beautiful part of Lincolnshire and I hope that my website will answer any questions you have.  You'll find some information about me, about what I and my party stand for and about how to get in touch.  Please don't hesitate to do so: what matters to you matters to me.  I'm passionately committed to serving the interests of all of our community as best as I can.
