Wednesday, Stephen Phillips MP delivered the keynote presentation at the annual East Midlands Directors' Briefing held in the constituency at the Belton Woods Hotel and sponsored by successful local chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis. Praising the efforts of entrepreneurs and businesses all across the East Midlands, Stephen outlined the Government's successes in a difficult economic climate and briefed senior executives on further plans to reduce red tape and encourage economic growth. Speaking on his journey back to Westminster to attend Prime Minister's Questions, Stephen said, "We are extremely fortunate in Lincolnshire to have a large number of successful world-beating businesses, often grown from scratch. The economic recovery is being led by the private sector, with over a million jobs created in the last two years. My message today has been to say how much the Government values everything which our SMEs do, whilst setting out our plans to help British business in the future."
